What India Lost Because Of Gandhi Family

We are comparatively a young nation. Though our history and existence goes back to, not a day less than 5000 years at least, I still call us a young nation for reasons. Before the independence, we mostly were princely held states, operating and interest surrounding individual states or counties only. We started behaving and operating as a single nation from the day Nehru hoisted our tricolor atop Lalkila for the first time.

We may be a young nation but we have this dubious distinction of making a complete mess of the realm, quicker than any other country possibly did. No, not even Pakistan or for that matter even Somalia can compete with our feats in this regard. Irony is; the said muddle of the country didn’t happen accidentally. It rather was designed and architected by our continuous power greed leadership. From the day we got liberated on August 15^th 1947, the systematic attempt at ruining the nation started along with. Sometimes to cater to the power hungry attitude of few while at other occasion to satisfy the greed for money and power of a particular family and political party, all our constitutional bodies were methodically maligned and sabotaged. By hook or crook, few individuals were always preserved and protected, even for their worst of crimes, in the process making a mockery of our constitution, which is fondly refer as Snake Oil.

How many of us do know what Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi told to the entire Congress top brass once independence was achieved? The idea of constituting the Congress was for independence. Since we achieved that, let’s dissolve it as our motto never was to gain power; Gandhi said to have told. Many of us do know this famous request of Gandhi but what we don’t know is why this never got implemented. We don’t know, how in earth something which none other than the original Gandhi wanted never got implemented in Congress. Because we never would be told how Jawaharlal Nehru was the first one to oppose any such pious suggestion of Gandhi.

I always jokingly said this on many platforms. Little did Gandhi know that there were very few, almost countable on the fingertips, who were actually fighting for independence only. Those few either lost their lives in the process or were driven into oblivion post-independence. All those who were always seen crowding around Gandhi and masquerading as so called freedom fighters were actually power hungry leeches in lookout for an appropriate opportunity. I even blame Gandhi for this as he himself only allowed such self-serving people to roam around with him and get projected as the flag bearer of our freedom movement. I blame Gandhi for protecting such nefarious intent people whenever they were threatened of their position. I blame Gandhi for fasting when Netaji Subas Bose became the president of the Congress, giving a serious identity crisis to the likes of Nehru. I blame Gandhi for allowing someone as volatile as Nehru to become the PM of this nation when more capable and deserving candidates like Sardar Patel were sidelined. I blame Gandhi for allowing his surname to be passed on generation after generation as a borrowed entity and used to play havoc on our national psyche. That said, not to blame Gandhi alone, we as a nation are also culprit of the mess that we are piling on for 60 odd years. We never were serious of our independence at the first place. Had we been, then we wouldn’t have allowed a completely clueless individual to become the first priminister of independent India.

Nehru not only was clueless but also was grossly a misfortune for a young nation at that point. Though I see the sycophants swear by the foreign policy abilities of Nehru, I find them grossly an exaggeration. His legendry ‘Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai’ phrase and the subsequent humiliating Indo-China war speak volume of his foreign policy abilities. For me he never in fact had any policy other than roaming around or may be beyond, with all the beautiful women of that time. Though I would have loved to call him the first womanizer of independent India, it is only for the respect of the PM’s chair that I am refraining myself. Even the development ideas that we attribute to Nehru were again something which were not for the right candidate. It was Sardar Patel, who envisioned a vibrant India. It was he who kick started everything good but sadly we were told everything is because of the efforts of Nehru. From Bhakra dam to the first IIT in Kharagpur, it was all because of Sardar Patel. Nehru’s contribution in all of those combining, amounts to naught or at best the flimsy speeches he gave during their opening ceremony. Images don’t lie and what a serious and working priminister looks like is evident here. Though Lalbahadur Shastri could be the best PM Congress ever managed to produce, we seldom here Congress sycophants taking his name in any manner. That is how; truth is always kept hidden from the nation. Like Sardar Patel, a popular Shastri was, is and will always remain a threat to the false image of Gandhi family, that is been webbed around all of us for sixty years. Ditto is the case with the second best PM from Congress stable, PV Narasimha Rao.

While Nehru was clueless and more-or-less someone having more interest on ladies than the nation, he didn’t inflict as much damage as his daughter did a good thirty years down. Though Nehru always remained in pursuit of that coveted Nobel peace prize, side kicking national interest, he never was as bad for the nation as Indira Gandhi was. We may blame the present UPA government for destroying every constitutional establishment but in reality the sabotage started during the time of Indira. In fact, the entire set of problems that we as a nation are suffering since last three decades have got a common mother; and that is Indira Gandhi. From the terrorism that we see in our nation to the massive corruption in our day-to-day lives, all can be contributed to the so called good governance of Indira Gandhi. While we are at it, how can one forget the misdeed called Bindernwale, which kept Punjab burning for good couple of decades? The lady was not only clueless like her father; she also was arrogant, authoritarian and an outright power hungry individual. The emergency, which could easily be the biggest dark hour of our nation, was unnecessarily thrust upon us since the lady found herself losing the power. Not to mention, how the nation was dragged a good decade behind for such atrocious actions of a power hungry lot. A para from Wikipedia says it all.

Raj Narain, who had been defeated in parliamentary election by Indira Gandhi, lodged cases of election fraud and use of state machinery for election purposes against Gandhi in the Allahabad High Court. On 12 June 1975, Justice Jagmohanlal Sinha of the Allahabad High Court found the Prime Minister guilty on the charge of misuse of government machinery for her election campaign. The court declared her election null and void and unseated her from her seat in the Lok Sabha. The court also banned her from contesting any election for an additional six years. Some serious charges such as bribing voters and election malpractices were dropped and she was held responsible for misusing the government machinery, and found guilty on charges such as using the state police to build a dais, availing the services of a government officer, Yashpal Kapoor, during the elections before he had resigned from his position, and use of electricity from the state electricity department. Because the court unseated her on comparatively frivolous charges, while she was acquitted on more serious charges, The Times described it as 'firing the Prime Minister for a traffic ticket'. However, strikes in labor and trade unions, student unions and government unions swept across the country. Protests led byJ.P. Narayan, Raj Narain, Satyendra Narayan Sinha and Morarji Desai flooded the streets of Delhi close to the Parliament building and the Prime Minister's residence. The persistent efforts of Raj Narain, were praised worldwide as it took over four years for Justice Jagmohan Lal Sinha to finally pass judgement against Gandhi. The ruling later became the primary reason for the imposition of emergency by Gandhi.

Ahh, classic I must say. A lady goes ahead and tries to manipulate our electoral democracy by misusing state machinery and yet feels as if it is her personal property when objected. Emergency for a court ruling exposing the reprehensible side of a ruling priminister? Perhaps, we could be the only nation, not only to have such selfish and power hungry leeches but also shameless enough to bulldoze the opponents when exposed of their misdeeds. Along with her notorious son Sanjay Gandhi, this lady inflicted so much damage in those 21 months, which perhaps couldn’t have been possible after a decade long war with Pakistan. The emergency not only saw the systematic sabotage of all constitutional frameworks, it also gave birth to many modern day thugs. Taking advantage of the emergency situation, Sanjay Gandhi along with his stooges was on rampage. Nationalized banks were forced to approve crorers of unsolicited loans in the names of Sanjay Gandhi’s near and dear ones. Those banks which opposed such misuse of public money were dealt with iron fist. The infamous case of then Canara Bank MD says a lot about the horrendous acts of this mother-son duo. Since he refused to buzz on the pressure of Sanjay Gandhi, he was terminated and replaced by a doormat of Sanjay and yes; the loans of 63 crores were sanctioned by Canara bank the very next day.

The emergency also saw the entry of so called new generation of leaders to the Congress party; much like what Rahul Gandhi is trying to do the with present day leadership of the party. The handful of sane minds, those were still with Congres then were shown the door quite unceremoniously. Kamraj in Tamilnadu; Nijalingappa in Karnataka; Sanjeeva Reddy in Andhra Pradesh; SK Patil in Maharashtra; each one of these tall leaders were relegated. In fact Sanjay Gandhi even tried to ouster many Congress CMs since they were becoming a threat for the Gandhi family. The present political mess we see in the name of these self-serving and opportunist regional parties is because; all the tall leaders not belonging to Gandhi family were sidelined leaving the populace to bank upon individuals who were not the puppet in the hands of this mother-son duo. Emergency also brought about the advent of Pranab Mukherjee, RK Dhawan and even crook bureaucrats like Navin Chawla. Pranab Da from nowhere become the finance minister and no wonder the first budget that he announced must be benefiting whom.

Untimely death of Indira in fact saw someone being pulled out from the cockpit and put on the chair of the PM. Rajiv found it necessary to take the oath within hours Mrs. Gandhi pronounced dead, since the fear of power going somewhere got bigger but he conveniently kept mourning after that till the entire Sikh population in Delhi reduced to a third of its original number. His own Chelas were on rampage and carrying out bloodbath while this person kept on ignoring them.

Like his grandfather, Rajiv is also showered with praise for all that he never did. The second phase of development that the nation saw were all credited to Rajiv while the real architects like Sam Pitroda were never given their due. For the sycophants, Rajiv brought everything to India from Italy. From the likes of computer and telephone to his Italian wife, all credit must go to Rajiv and his foresight. While showering of praise continued till Rajiv met with his unfortunate end, none seemed too interested to question his involvement in matter of national security like Bofors. National interests that time became a family business when uncles and aunts from Italy actively participated in the pan-India loot mission. No one bothered to ask uncomfortable questions when Rajiv was awarded with Bharat Ratna. Bharat Ratna? Seriously? Didn’t greats like CV Raman and Sarbapalli Radhakrishnan won that too? Not only such brazen mess around with nation's security was never questioned, even the uncles, those were actively involved in conspiring the loot mission were never acted upon. For hogwash few odd bank accounts were frozen but investigation went nothing beyond that. Even those bank accounts were defreezed when the fourth generation of Gandhi family ruled a proxy governance in 2004. Bharat Ratna; I am long planning to roll on the floor laughing but refraining myself in lack of enough ground space.

The fourth generation made mockery of whatever little worth praising was left. It all started by locking an old Sitaram Keshri in the toilet and galvanized to its bizarre best when they appointed a worthless Pratibha Patil as the president of this nation. Ohh yes, how can one forget the appointment of a certain Manmohan Singh in-between as a proxy? Even the post of PM and president were not spared from being misused. While how convenient it is to install your ex-cook as the head of the nation is for all to understand, it still baffles many seeing Manmohan Singh in the post of PM and doing nothing. All that he does, that too occasionally is to announce how he is more than just ready to leave his chair for Rahul Gandhi if he willing. Even the sacred posts like PM and President is ruined and we are bothered how CBI, CAG, CVC and many more are destroyed by Congress. Carrying on their legacy of bad governance and corruption, this fourth generation even took them to all new heights. The efforts to accomplish scams on daily basis were so voracious that they have ended up with scams even they couldn't remember. No field of operation is left without a mega scam or two. They even haven’t left our sports, science, and technology from the scam tainted purview. The latest being their attempt at gulping down some solar energy.

I wonder if anything left for the future fifth generation (if at all they come) of Gandhi family to accomplish. No, even the Damads are already exempted from security checks at airports. Perhaps the one thing that the present fourth generation of Gandhi family should have left for the fifth generation.
