How Was The Lunch Mr. Khurshid?

People generally prioritize their interest; so as nations cutting across different level of development index. As I said in many of my older posts, this is why we as a nation go tom-tom about Iran and the filthy rulers therein. We conserve a healthy friendship, both with Iran and Israel knowing very well the antagonism these two republics enjoy, which even could shame Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mayawati at the same time. Neither have we listened to the prejudiced world on what they have to say about Tel Aviv nor a separate lot including Israel about Tehran. We do it because we see benefits as a nation in hobnobbing with controversial nations, irrespective of different opinions that the globe may be carrying. That holds true with controversial figures as well. Dalai Lama is one such example where we wheedle the Nobel laureate, even though Beijing is austerely against this man.

Safeguarding nation’s interest, that too going against the laid out notion at times is a routine procedure in international diplomacy. Every country does it and I have no qualms if we do the same. But what bewilders me always is our approach towards Pakistan and its leadership. I don’t dispute if we continue engaging Pakistan provided we have a clear roadmap of some gain in the future. Though our corrupt leadership may assure us of some imminent gain in engaging Pakistan but I would tend to disagree since I haven’t seen a single instance where we have gained anything after engaging the rabid rascals for close to seventy years. All that we have achieved after persistent cajoling is loss of our brave soldiers and that too in thousands, bomb blasts in every street corner of our cities, a depleted state like Kashmir which once considered being heaven and last but not the least, decapitated bodies of our soldiers packed back to us.

But still I see our leaders rushing around places like shameless pawns and fraternize with Pakistan at every possible forum and return back every time with empty hands or worse a terror attack or two. Even our media is not far behind since we see people like Barkha Dutt customarily traveling to that part of the world to have interviews with seasoned rogues and know their perspective on Indo-Pak relationship. Don’t we know their perspective on India yet? When they have let their state sponsored reprobates like ISI loose on us and trying to bleed our nation by killing innocent countrymen, once in every month; does it really required for the gutterbugs to open their mouth and let us know what they feel about us? It even gets funnier when our media hawks run around the streets of London and do videography of Parvez Mussaraf’s blabbers when we very well know his harming by thousand cuts nonsense. Not just that, even events (HT leadership summit) sponsored by state run organizations like ONGC, LIC, we run around morons like Mussaruff to invite him and let know his leadership qualities. How incongruous it is to have a man on our soil, giving us lecture on leadership when we very well are aware of his engrossment in inflicting grievous injuries like Kargil war. Can we envisage another country, which will invite affably, the scamps who could be the biggest adversaries of the state? Perhaps not. Not even Bangaldesh and Bhutan. Then what could possibly delineate such funny characteristics of us Indians? Shamelessness or just indifference?

The latest display of such impudence is the unofficial (read personal) visit of the present Pakistan priminister Raza Parvez Ashraf to Kwaza Mauddin Chisti’s Dargha in Jaipur. As a customary the head of the shrine got to accompany, if the visitor happens to be a state guest. Little did we were expecting a turn of events this time around. Out of nowhere the head of the Dargha, Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan repudiated to welcome the scumbag personally. And the reasons given thereof couldn’t have fitted any better to what we were forced to deal with, as far as Pakistan is concerned. In objection to the beheading of our soldiers by the Pakistani troops, the Maulabi thought, it would be unbound humiliation to the slain brave hearts and their families if a person as notorious as Mr. Ashraf is allowed to be showered with cordial gestures. ‘Can’t possibly welcome someone who has his hands stained with our brave soldier’s blood’, were his specific words. Bravo!! I would say, not for the words but for the attitude of calling a spade a spade finally. In fact we shouldn’t have allowed personal visits of any Pakistan statesman post the unethical beheading, let alone allowing them in the shrine. If the obnoxious ‘talks shouldn’t derail’ rhetoric need to be continued, then so be it but it should be strictly limited to official engagements. We, like the Maulabi can’t just tolerate someone who plans to stab us on the back one day and visits our country for personal merrymaking the other day. We haven’t stooped down to such level of impenitence that we further humiliate our own people, as if the initial unethical killings weren’t good enough.

But does our present day installed corrupt government thinks on the lines of the Maulabi? Though they should have, but unfortunately it is entirely the other way. When an ordinary citizen shown the pluck to stand for the brave men who are fighting for us, our external affairs ministry, full with bungling idiots and commanded by a guy called Salman Khurshid, were busy positioning a jolly good time for the Pakistan PM. Reasons only know to our government and MEA, Khurshid rushed to Jaipur to arrange a mega lunch for the Pakistani crook on tax payers money. Being a tax payer myself, I object to such blatant depletion of my money and that too on dreadful acts. In lines to the Maulabi, I also am not too excited to have my hard earned money squandered in feeding cads, who even do not warrant our sympathy. Khurshid can follow the scoundrels to hail and beyond, if he likes but for me and many others, it is a straight forward insult to all those who have suffered, suffering or have lost their dear ones to the terror acts perpetrated by the state of Pakistan.

I would have no pangs, had it been an official visit like many we accommodate to throw tantrums at each other or at us Indians. There is a basic to diplomacy which even third graded rouges like Pakistani officials are endorsed with and we need to abide by the international diplomatic guidelines, though it could be our biggest of enemies. But to follow the same protocols even for personal visits looks little uncomfortable. Are we that bound to serve Mr. Ashraf with hot cooked Indian food even when he is around for a very private visit? Even if it means transporting our entire GOI catering service from Delhi to Jaipur? When the visitor doesn’t have the rudimentary courtesy to even touch down at Delhi but fly directly to Jaipur, why we run around like half naked kids of a village and try to appease the felonious guy, is beyond me.

Had Khurshid rushed to meet the families of the slain soldiers, the way he showed his eagerness in meeting the Pakistan PM, he would have done a great service to the nation. But as expected of a government least bothered about the nation or the people who have voted them to power, these moral deprived entities went ahead appeasing someone who is liable to answer a lot of uncomfortable questions from Indians. How depressing it is to see your own leaders caring less for the populace but readily agreeing to walk an extra, err.. fly few hundred miles to cook some hot food for a scumbag. Hope some sense will previl and people in power would be able to notice the humiliation and how it gets further aggravated by such brainless actions. But by the way, what was on the menu that day? Did anyone have any idea?

    2. Narrow minded uppercaste bloggers, diplomacy is different and narrow minded politics are different. India's foriegn policy is matured and well rounded one. When we have our own hindu extremists bombing our own people. why point fingers across border ?
We have opposition party which is guided by fascism and uppercaste propaganda which is more dangerous than outside enemies.

    3. Nice Pratul, you are so proud of our contry's diplomacy. In the same way, why do you not trust India's judiciary? No hindu has still been proved to have bombed our own country. Furthermore, even accepting for a while that Hindu terrorism exists, does it mean we should keep quiet and let Pakistan do anything it does because our own people are bombing us? As long as this country has intellectuals like you, we will remain spineless.

    4. I seldom use foul language against my esteemed readers but here is one example whre I just can't restrain and ask the person to let all know, where he has parked his brain. In all liklihood it has to be up his arse but a clarification would help establish the fact.

    5. There were comments by some pakistani journalist that the trip was an official one only but was not broadcasted so for obvious reasons. IMHO the beheading was a diversionary tactics deploy to take media coverage away from the recent outrage over the delhi rape
